Automatically Split Recordings
Click Options
The Auto-Split
feature allows you to specify a maximum length of time or maximum file size that can be achieved, at which point a new
file
will be automatically created. This lets you split recordings
into separate files that will fit onto CD's or other media without having to use an audio editor to split up recordings.
To use Auto-Split,
put a check-mark
in the Auto-Split check box. To turn it off, uncheck
it. Turning it off disables all of the related controls, turning it on enables the controls.
Select one of the options
to set what your maximum
recording length
or size will
be. When your maximum is reached, the current recording will stop, a new file will be created and the recording
will continue. This will occur repeatedly until your total recording length is reached, (specified by manual recording
length or automatic recording length).
Create new file at the limit below

length. For Custom
length, enter the maximum number of minutes to record in the "Min." text box. (Only integers; whole numbers are allowed). Custom length can be used
to specify a length that will fit onto any other media or a portable player.
If you're going to put your recordings onto a Data CD, which will only be readable by a computer or a player that can read Data CD's, containing MP3's, etc., specify a maximum
file size. You can select the 650 or 700 MB standard Data CD size options or select Custom
file size. For Custom
file size, enter the maximum
MB, (megabytes) to record into the "MB" text box. (Only integers; whole numbers are allowed). Custom file size can be
used to specify a size that will fit onto other media, such as DVD.
Auto-Split can
be used in conjunction with Sound Activation.
